The Southern Legacy Story
Hey, there! I’m Callie, and I’d like to thank you for checking out our blog! As real estate professionals, my team and I are excited to share with you our knowledge and expertise of the trade with you, as well as some of our many, MANY stories and lessons we’ve collected along the way. But first, let me tell you a bit about how our journey got started.
In the fall of 2015, we (my husband Josh, and I) formed Loewen Pride Properties, LLC. Shortly after, we purchased our first deal in Oklahoma City. The home was in terrible condition in a terrible market. Despite this, a profit was still made! During this project, we continued to study the Nashville market, and began to find deals and partner with a fellow investor. After the completion of the first Nashville deal, we hosted an investor open house to discuss the project. It was there that I noticed a very familiar face in the crowd of guests, but couldn’t quite place him. Enter Todd Yarger.
Todd and I had actually met years before at a real estate seminar in Atlanta. He had a successful portfolio of rental properties as well as some rehabs of his own in the Memphis area. Knowing the Nashville market was booming, he saw the value in a partnership and talks began about working together on some deals. Todd had a number of private investors and wanted Nashville projects. We had Nashville projects and wanted some lenders. Noticing that each company filled a need for the other company, talks and meetings began, and Southern Legacy Homes, LLC was formed in 2018.
Due to the implementation of systems, and the hiring of the first full-time employees (shout out to Emily and Dana!), Southern Legacy Homes, LLC was able to grow and scale rapidly. One renovation at a time quickly turned into two, then four, then ten! At this point, Southern Legacy Homes, LLC’s inventory ranges from 20 to 30 projects at a time. Our repertoire includes everything from building a pergola so a homeowner can enjoy relaxing in her backyard to a $2.3 million dollar new build nestled in the side of a wooded hill in Belle Meade!
Now that you know our story, I hope you’ll continue to follow along!
